Just after writing another post to this blog, I heard that one of my favorite mentors had passed. Dr. Randy Pausch was an inspiring professor at Carniege Mellon University. He was a computer science professor (aka geek) that understood that you can not build systems…especially virtual ones…without the help of others. He build a curriculum around improving the teamwork between geeks and artists. The result was the Alice Project. Other examples appear in his famous Last Lecture on YouTube.
If you want to find and work with an ideal geek, watch Randy’s Last Lecture and search for others like him that understand that people … business people … are important and need to be listened to carefully.
My heart, prayers and virtual strength go out to his family and friends.
